Sex Addiction Counseling Group
Sex addiction is isolating, and we find that recovery requires involvement with a group of other recovering sex addicts who can identify with our struggles and celebrate our successes. This group is designed for Men, ages 18 and over, who desire to be set free from sexually addictive behaviors.
Our Men’s Sexual Addiction Counseling groups are open and ongoing; the groups don’t have a start and end date but do require a 12-week minimum commitment, with an option to continue in the group past the 12-weeks. Group members decide, in consultation with their group counselor, when they’re ready to move on to a different form of support.
Sexual Addiction Group Information
The group meetings themselves last 90 minutes each time they meet.
What do you do in groups? At the beginning of each group, attendees go around the circle and answer several “check-in” questions, to bring each other up to speed on the things going on in their lives. Then group members will process the work they have completed in the group workbook. After each workbook presentation, the other group members provide feedback. This is how group members can provide insight to others and themselves about the true nature of the addiction.
This men’s group balances grace with accountability and is a forum for learning how to develop healthy relationships
How are these groups different from 12 Step Support Groups? We strongly support 12 Step groups such as Sexaholics Anonymous and Sex Addicts Anonymous, and many men in our groups attend those meetings as well. Our groups are different, and supplement those support groups in important ways. In 12 step groups, the focus is on sharing and support but “cross-talk” and “advice” are prohibited. Our groups are led by trained sex addiction counselors and are structured to facilitate helpful and constructive feedback, so that addicts are not only heard, but are helped.
How Do Join A Group
If someone is interested in pursuing our program, we ask that they meet with one of our counselors to go over their story, and talk about the group options. After this assessment session, the counselor and the client will decide which, if any, group might be right for them.
*Please do not show up without first meeting with a counselor. You will not be allowed to join the group without the individual session.
Please call 303-933-5800 to inquire about vacancies in each group. Open spots are limited.
If you are ready to work our sexual addiction program, there are two ways to setup an appointment with one of our counselors: 1) Fill out the Contact Form and a counselor will call you with 24-hours; 2) Call our offices at 303-933-5800.
